MELONS

Depending on the variety, melons differ in shape, size, skin and flesh color, aroma and taste. So we have a round or oval shape, thick or thin skin, yellow or greenish color, smooth or striped skin surface, sweet and aromatic taste, firm, juicy, soft or hard flesh that forms a hollow in the center and there are the numerous seeds.

Melons are one of the most popular summer fruits. In Greece, the largest crops are in the Peloponnese and Crete, while a total of 65,000 acres are cultivated, with annual production reaching 20,000 tons.
